Welcome

On behalf of the International Society on Nitric Oxide and Cancer (ISNOC), welcome to Lisbon and to the 4^th International Conference on Nitric Oxide Therapeutics in Cancer and Other Diseases.

Set in one of Europe’s most inspiring coastal capitals, Lisbon offers the perfect backdrop for scientific exchange: bright Atlantic light, historic neighbourhoods, and an easy, walkable rhythm that makes conversations continue well beyond the lecture hall.

This edition will bring together national and international experts from chemistry, biology, pharmacology, engineering, and clinical fields to discuss the latest advances in nitric oxide (NO) therapeutics in cancer, acute and chronic inflammatory-related diseases, and other indications.

The programme will cover molecular and cellular mechanisms, diagnostics and biomarkers, and the development of next-generation NO donors and delivery systems, with a strong focus on translation to clinical benefit. It will also include sessions on other therapeutic gasotransmitters and on practical pathways to implementation, including perspectives from invited industry representatives working to bring these approaches to clinical and commercial use.

In addition, the conference will feature workshop sessions (topics to be selected) designed to support both established and early-career investigators.

Importantly, the meeting is designed to be highly interactive and supportive of early-career researchers. It will offer numerous opportunities for oral communications, scientific awards, and a vibrant social programme in the centre of Lisbon, providing an excellent setting to network, start collaborations, and the exchange of ideas.
